Werk in Uitvoering | Work in Progress

Ik werk graag aan verschillende projecten tegelijk. Door afwisselend aan verschillende objecten te werken, hou ik mezelf scherp en blijft mijn werk gevariëerd. Je kunt je vast voorstellen dat een portret een heel andere discipline vereist dan een vrij werk met kleurschakeringen. Op deze pagina hou ik je op de hoogte van werken waar ik momenteel mee bezig ben. Als de werken af zijn, verschuiven ze naar het tabblad “portfolio”. Als ik nieuwe technieken gebruik bij een werk, zal er een apart tabblad voor aangemaakt worden. Daar kan je dan langere tijd meer informatie over het betreffende werk vinden.

I like working on several projects at the same time. By doing that, I keep myself focussed and my work diverse. You can imagine that a portrait needs a completely different approach than a work of gradient colors. On this page I will keep you posted on works in progress. If the artworks are finished, they will be moved to “portfolio”. If I use new techniques, the work will show up as a seperate page where the info will stay for a longer time.

Momenteel werk ik aan “Jack”. Tijdens onze vakantie in Zuid-Afrika in 2012 hebben we een ongelooflijke hoeveelheid foto’s gemaakt. Daar is een heel aantal foto’s bij van de leeuwen die we geadopteerd hebben (zie pagina “Charity”). Eén van die foto’s ben ik aan het uitwerken in smalti.  Voor het eerst werk ik direct op een foto. Ik heb me laten vertellen dat de lijm die ik gebruik (pva-lijm) door het papier van de foto dringt en dat de smalti daardoor alsnog direct aan de ondergrond (watervast verlijmd multiplex) zullen hechten. Ik ben benieuwd…

At the moment my work in progress is “Jack”. The work is based on a picture that we took in South-Africa. In real life, Jack is one of the lions that we decided to adopt. You can find more information about adopting a lion on the page “Charity”. For the first time I am working on a picture in the direct method, using pva-glue. I was told that the glue will have no problem soaking through the paper and sticking to the background that way. Hmmm.... Let’s see what happens....
